Hi. This is me; the person who writes the blogs for The Center of Love and Acceptance (TCLA).

Many have messaged me about a variety of topics, but the one I have not really answered in a blog is "Who am I?".

I am just like you - a person seeking. What am I seeking? Love, happiness, peace, ease, joy, freedom and connection - more of the best things in life. My background is diverse, but currently I am a practicing therapist and crisis assessment specialist. You can read more about me here, on the TCLA website.

My purpose in writing blogs is to offer ideas, thoughts, and perspectives on topics we all face. The thought is if we share ideas, especially from learned experiences, we all have the chance to benefit. Giving and receiving, in action and in words, is part of the essence of what makes the world go 'round, so why not do it intentionally?

"Be intentional" is something most folks say in everyday conversation, but what does being intentional really mean? Intentionality takes daily practice in being present, coupled with the desire for self-awareness. We cannot be intentional without being in the moment and aware. When we avoid being intentional, we usually are moving on autopilot. This is what most folks are talking about when they discuss feeling like a 'cog in a wheel' or 'living unconscious'.

Being intentional gives us the chance to make decisions we might not otherwise have the chance to make, because we pause, ponder, notice and consciously choose. We don't just 'go through the motions'. Thought or being thoughtful (ie full of thought) and present or in the moment, gives us the chance to make a new choice, see things in new ways, or just find joy in the moment - even on not so good days.

That's how I want to live, and writing this blog helps me to that end.
